The Mono Dogma Rules are a simplified way of editing all the major design features in V5. We have chosen the most important elements in order to create unique designs. We've used our Base and Style Templates as the starting point but together, our Templates and the Dogma Rules are what will ultimately set your client websites apart in terms of design.
An Efficient Recipe
The goal of the Mono Template System is quite simple, we want to ensure ultimate design quality while maintaining effective and quick production. The design quality is ensured by the fact that all templates are tested and optimized for the different viewports and the design elements that change in the design process are linked to each other to ensure consistency. Production time is made more effective because we have chosen very few elements that can provide a fully-customized look. By changing just a few settings the design can be changed dramatically to match the client's wishes.
Another important goal for the Template System is to create a foundation for quick scaling in our partners' fulfillment teams. It should be easy for new employees to get started in the design process and it should be easy for a colleague to take over design on a site he or she hasn't designed. This all means the process for an individual site should be easily documented.
Using the Mono Dogma Rules, you can see step by step how a V5 site is styled. This makes it easy to understand how a site is designed by others who may need to take over the site at a later stage.
Here's how you do it
When you've chosen the template you'd like to start with (either a Base or Style Template), download the set of Dogma Rules for that particular template. Now go through the points in the Dogma Rules step by step. If you change things in the template that are NOT a part of the Dogma Rules, be sure to write a note in the "Notes" field in the Dogma document. This way you can be sure that if a colleague needs to make changes down the line, they are aware of them.
